The Company
EarthSense was formed with the sole aim of enabling the world to understand and solve its air quality issues. Air quality is a fast-growing area of concern and EarthSense has helped the likes of BBC and ITV promote the dangers of breathing poor air, along with all of our blue-chip, global clients whom are taking positive steps to reduce air pollution.
We intend to help by providing the most detailed air quality information, globally, showing real-time exposure and actionable future forecasting that enables decisions and mitigations, for the betterment of human health.
Providing a number of data, software and hardware services our dynamic team has unparalleled air quality expertise in sensor design, pollution modelling and analysis and we use this to provide advice and support to government and industry globally.
Due to our fast growth, we are looking to recruit a number of highly capable and ambitious individuals, who will enable the next stage of our business evolution, establishing key positions in our exciting company.
As such; we are looking for a passionate, energetic, outgoing individual to work within our sales & marketing team to assist in the development and closing of sales with new clients in existing and new markets.

Job Title: Business Development Manager (Private Sector)
Post details: Full Time
Salary: £30,000 per annum dependent on experience plus uncapped OTE
Location: Leicester, UK / Hybrid working
Start date: Immediate (flexible depending on candidate)
Key Accountabilities
-
Plan, build, forecast and close a robust sales pipeline to deliver targets in line with the business sales & marketing strategy

Creating strategies to successfully reach new business opportunities

Building relationships with new clients, gauging their needs and developing proposals to address these needs, including liaising with internal product management and wider commercial team

Management of day-to-day sales enquiries including but not limited to quote preparation, literature, tender support, CRM maintenance etc.

Responsible for managing and closing a pipeline of new business opportunities across the private sector within the UK focus

Pitching sales and products to new and existing clients

Maintaining and develop new and existing client relationships and accounts

Attending exhibitions and events to build relationships with industry partners and staying up to date with new trends

Possess a strong understanding of the company’s products and services and understand our positioning within the competitive landscape

Contribute to the overall sales strategy and sales leadership team meetings

Provide general support to sales team to support meetings and business development efforts as required.

Travel within the UK will be required along with occasional overseas travel
Knowledge, Skills & Experience

Driven to meet sales targets and deadlines

Apply a consultative selling approach and develop trusted relationships

Have outstanding communication and networking skills across a variety of channels

Passionate about technology, keep up to date with the market trends, utilising the information for business improvement

At least 3 years’ experience in a B2B sales based roles

Proven history and successful sales record in a technology sector

Superb communication, interpersonal skills and ability to pitch

Excellent time management and planning skills

Experience of MS Office 365 suite

Solid technical background in one of the following; air quality, sensor monitoring, spatial data or data modelling

Additional languages an advantage

Relevant degree

Experience in working and selling outside the UK in fast paced export markets

Interview Process
Short-listed candidates will be invited to an interview process at our offices at Space Park Leicester.
The interview will include a hands-on challenge and the requirement to demonstrate previous experience at an appropriate level.
