EarthSense, the UK’s leading manufacturer of air quality products, has launched a new Network QAQC (Quality Assurance and Quality Control) framework. EarthSense’s Network QAQC will ensure real-time, regulatory compliant indicative measurement data for its Zephyr ® air quality monitors across wide geographies and evolving environmental conditions.
The new framework will provide a PAS4023* compliant QAQC to ensure that Zephyr ® data meets the required data quality objectives for indicative measurements, as defined in European directive 2024/2881
This real-time correction framework ensures that data across the network is not only traceable and comparable, but is also actively corrected using linear factors derived from co-located Zephyr ®air quality monitors. This helps to overcome calibration challenges of seasonal pollution fluctuations, ensuring that the live stream of quality assured data is ready to be published to the public, guaranteeing the traceability of methods and accuracy metrics, and providing fully ratified annual datasets ready for annual status reporting.
David Green, Head of Product at EarthSense, commented: “David Green, Head of Product at EarthSense, commented: “Matching air quality data to its intended outcome is fundamental for effective air quality policy. Not every project is the same, and data quality requirements should reflect the purpose of the use case—not just aim to be the 'best available' in a generic sense. That said, we’re proud to roll out our real-time Zephyr QAQC system to support monitoring projects that need to meet the highest standards. Our users can have confidence that their network is performing as it should, enabling them to focus on improving air quality and driving better health outcomes for all.”
*PAS 4023 code of practice relates to the selection, deployment and quality control of low-cost air quality sensor systems in outdoor ambient air.
